MISSION STATEMENT OF WELCOME

At Phillips United Methodist Church, our vision is a Christ-centered church that is open to all, a safe place to grow spiritually, and serve our community.

We worship an inclusive and loving God, who calls all persons into relationship, both with God and with neighbor. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and as beloved children of God, all are worthy of God’s love and grace. God’s love extends to all people, and all people are of sacred worth.

We welcome, affirm, and celebrate people of any age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, national origin, ethnic or cultural background, appearance, faith tradition, those who experience physical and mental disabilities, economic condition, marital status, family configuration, and of a conservative, centrist, or progressive theology. 

We proclaim this statement of welcome to all who have known the pain of exclusion or discrimination in the church and society. We invite all to join on a faith journey toward greater love, understanding, and mutual respect as we experience God’s grace. (approved by the October Administrative-council)
